If you're like me, and you have a daughter, you likely have more than one prom dress in your closet. Here is a remarkable way to re-purpose them, if you can bear to see them go. I could, and it was a completely and utterly satisfying experience for me and my daughter.
The Princess Project aims to be Fairy Godmother to needy San Diego high school girls who want to attend prom, but cannot afford a dress. Great idea, eh?
The Princess Project is here to help teens in need. They send them off to prom in style for free! Last year the organization made over 1,500 dresses available.
Girls can contact their school counselor, or activities leader to learn more. And, if you have a dress/dresses to donate, please contact me. I'll be more than happy to pick up and deliver for you.
You may also want to attend their annual fund-raising gala next Thursday, March 5th at the Moniker Warehouse, from 6:30 till 9:00, 706 16th Street, San Diego. It's a fashion show take-off of the hit TV show, Project Runway, and it should be great fun.
A great cause. A great feel-good way to help others.
